What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle, energy-based healing practice that originated in Japan. The word "Reiki" combines the Japanese terms "Rei" (universal or spiritual) and "Ki" (life force energy), signifying "universal life energy." 

It is based on the belief that this energy flows through all living beings, and when it is disrupted or low, it can lead to imbalances in the body, mind, and spirit. Reiki practitioners channel this energy through their hands to promote relaxation, reduce stress and support overall healing and well-being.

During a session, the practitioner may place their hands lightly on or just above the recipient’s body, encouraging the flow of energy to areas in need. Reiki is non-invasive and works holistically, addressing physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of health. It is often used alongside other therapies to enhance healing and balance, making it a widely accessible and complementary practice.

What Will You Learn in Reiki 1 Training?

Taken as a day-long training or as two consecutive half days, Reiki 1 introduces the foundational principles and practices of Reiki, focusing on self-healing and offering energy to others. Participants learn about the origins of Reiki, its philosophy, and the concept of life force energy (Ki). 

“A key component is receiving the first Reiki attunement, which connects the student to universal energy and enables them to channel it.”

The course covers hand positions for self-healing and working on others. Students explore grounding and centering techniques, the five Reiki principles for mindful living and the ethics of energy healing. By the end of Level 1, participants are equipped to practice Reiki on themselves and others, beginning a journey of self-awareness and holistic healing.

What you learn in Reiki Level 2:

Split over two consecutive half days or one full day, Reiki 2 deepens the practitioner’s connection to Reiki energy and introduces new tools for advanced healing. Students learn three powerful Reiki symbols, each with unique purposes: enhancing energy flow, emotional healing and distance healing. These symbols allow practitioners to send Reiki across time and space, addressing past, present, and future situations.

The course also explores techniques for clearing energy blockages, strengthening intuition and using Reiki for mental and emotional healing. Participants receive a second attunement, amplifying their ability to channel energy. Ethics and best practices for working with clients are emphasised, preparing practitioners to offer Reiki professionally as a paid skill or to enhance their practice.

To charge for Reiki, you need a Reiki 2 qualification.

Whether you have taken Reiki One and Two with us or just want to join us for our Advanced Teachings, these classes are available to anyone with their Reiki 2 certification.

What is an Advanced Reiki Course? These are courses you can take once you have completed your Reiki One and Two qualifications. These courses, separately and collectively, expand your understanding of Reiki, allowing you to go even further so you can understand the layers of healing Reiki can offer. Once you have taken your Reiki Two attunement and allowed 21 days for those energies to integrate, you can join us on the following:

Angel Reiki

£125 or cheaper when purchased as a bundle.

It teaches you to combine the principles of traditional Reiki with the assistance and guidance of angels, Spirit Guides, Animal Guides and Ancestors. Practitioners channel Reiki while calling upon angels, archangels and other divine beings to support the healing process. This practice emphasizes connecting with higher realms to bring love, light and clarity to physical, emotional and spiritual challenges. 

Angel Reiki enhances the energetic flow by incorporating the wisdom and protection of celestial beings, fostering deep relaxation, inner peace and a sense of divine connection.

Aroma Reiki

£125 or cheaper when purchased as a bundle.

Reiki with essential oils combines the energy-healing practice of Reiki with the therapeutic properties of essential oils to enhance the healing experience. Practitioners select specific oils based on their energetic and emotional qualities, using them to complement the Reiki session. The essential oils are often diffused, applied topically or simply placed nearby to promote relaxation, balance energy and address physical, emotional or spiritual needs. 

This synergy amplifies Reiki's benefits, creating a multi-sensory healing environment that deepens relaxation, enhances energy flow and supports holistic well-being.

Crystal Reiki

Crystal Reiki is a healing practice that blends the energy of traditional Reiki with the vibrational power of crystals. 

In this modality, practitioners use specific crystals, chosen for their energetic properties, to amplify the flow of Reiki energy and target specific healing intentions. Crystals may be placed on or around the body during a session to enhance energy alignment, clear blockages and support physical, emotional, or spiritual well-being. The synergy between Reiki and crystals creates a deeply therapeutic experience. Promoting balance, relaxation and an enhanced connection to the natural and energetic world.

Quantum Reiki

£125 or cheaper when purchased as a bundle.

Quantum Reiki is an advanced energy healing practice that integrates the principles of Reiki with the concepts of quantum physics to access and work with energy at a deeper, multidimensional level. 

This modality views the energy field as interconnected with the quantum realm, where infinite possibilities for healing and transformation exist. Practitioners channel universal life force energy while focusing on intentions to shift energy patterns, address imbalances, and promote healing across physical, emotional, mental and spiritual layers. 

Quantum Reiki emphasises holistic and expansive healing, supporting profound personal growth and alignment with one's highest potential.

Attunements

After completing each course date, you will be asked to attend that course's attunement on the same day or the following week. 

These attunements are conducted online in small, supportive groups of five participants. Each session lasts no longer than an hour. Gemma will guide you, ensuring a personalised and powerful experience.

Once you have signed up for your courses, you will receive a link to access the Crystal Mystery School. From there, you can select the dates you wish to attend. You can only take Reiki 2 once you have completed Reiki 1, and you can only take our Advanced Reiki courses once you have completed Reiki 2. 

You have one year to attend all your classes

You can take Reiki 1 and 2 together on the same weekend or separately.

A Little about your teacher, Gemma:

Gemma Petherbridge set out on her spiritual path as a small child. Seeing spirits, naturally intuiting situations and gaining insight into the destinies of others came as second nature and after losing her parents at a young age she turned to spirituality and self development for answers. Her journey into the world of wellness and holistic therapies began in earnest when, aged twenty-one, she studied Hypnotherapy.

Twenty years on, Gemma is a three time Author and runs the Crystal Mystery School, which offers qualifications in multiple modalities and different holistic fields - from Akashic Records Reading to Crystal Healing and Reiki. Having transitioned from healer to teacher, she has now taught and inspired thousands of people worldwide.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Reiki 1 is about learning the basics, focusing on self-healing and hands-on healing for others. It sets the foundation for understanding Reiki energy and how to channel it effectively.

    Reiki 2 builds on this foundation by introducing advanced techniques, symbols, and distance healing. This allows practitioners to expand their healing reach and address deeper emotional and mental issues.

  • Yes - you must attend the whole course live to receive your qualification. Video screens need to be on throughout and we need to see you doing a live practice with a loved one.

  • Once you have completed your live training, we will offer you several time slots to attend your attunement. You must attend one. You can only qualify once you have participated in an attunement. 

  • You can only take Reiki 2 once you have completed Reiki 1, and you can only take our Advanced Reiki courses once you have completed Reiki 2. If you want to take Reiki 2 or above and have previously studied with someone else, we will ask to see your certificates before enrolment can be confirmed.

  • Definitely - Gemma took both three times and felt she benefited from it.

  • Yes, you can select to take them at separate times or over the same weekend. If you take them together, you only need to do one Attunement at the end. If you take them separately, you must do an attunement for each.

  • It is possible to learn this modality online, like a distance Reiki healing session. Many people find it more successful because they can relax in the less formal setting of their own homes.

  • To qualify, at a set time within each course, we need to see you practice on someone who is in your space with you. If you need to move your course date to find someone, please let us know no later than 48 hours before the course starts.

    We can move your booking once free of charge. Any further changes will incur an admin fee of £25.

    We do need to know numbers. Therefore, if you need to cancel within 48 hours of the course date, we cannot move your booking, but you can gift your spot to a loved one.*

    *For Reiki 2 and our advanced courses, that loved one must already have the relevant Reiki 1 or higher qualifications.

  • Yes, definitely—we would still love you to take your Reiki 2 or above with us. We will need a copy of your current Reiki certificates to do so. 

  • No - All information you need will be provided during the course.

  • We offer a 72-hour cooling-off period. You can request a full refund 72 hours after signing up for the course. However, this is no longer possible once you have access to the school or the course has started.

  • Once you receive your Reiki 2 certificate, you can charge for Reiki treatments.

  • Our school and this course are accredited with the CMA, so the qualification you receive will be. Once you receive your qualification, you can sign up and become a member.

  • Our checkout offers the following payment plan options: Klarna, Paypal Pay in Three, and ClearPay, available at the checkout.

    We also offer our own payment plan options. The final total will be slightly higher because this creates extra admin.
